He has more than 25 years of experience in originating, structuring and managing complex financial transactions. Prior to founding Convergent, he held senior positions at AT&T Capital - Capital Markets Division, Citicorp Industrial Credit- Structured Finance and served as the Chief Financial Officer of Tom Thumb Foods. He is a former U.S. Navy Submariner, serving aboard the Fleet Ballistic Missile Class, USS Benjamin Franklin (SSBN 640). John holds a BA degree from Concordia College and attended Citibank Accelerated Training at Harvard Business School. John is a member of the board of directors of Key Health Group, as well as serves on the board of several non-profit organizations. He has served as a director on the board of public, private and non-profit organizations. Prior to founding Convergent, he spent 13 years working for the Wall Street firms of Salomon Brothers, Inc. and Merrill Lynch & Co. Prior to working on Wall Street, he gained experience in credit and commercial lending with Norwest Corporation and Gelco Equipment Leasing Company. Prior to joining Convergent, Matt was an investment banking analyst in US Bancorp Piper Jaffray's Middle Market Mergers & Acquisitions group. He has experience in buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions, equity offerings, debt restructurings and valuations ranging from $50 million to $1 billion. Prior to joining Convergent Capital he worked for ThinkEquity Partners in the Mergers & Acquisitions group and for US Bancorp Piper Jaffray in the Middle Market Mergers & Acquisitions group. Niral has been involved in a broad variety of industries and transactions performing qualitative and quantitative analyses of mergers and acquisitions, leverage buyouts, equity offerings, private placements and other investment banking transactions. He also serves as Convergent's healthcare advisor. From 1977 to 1987, he founded and then served as President of National Funding Corporation (NFC), a healthcare finance subsidiary of National Medical Enterprises. When NFC was sold to Bell Atlantic-Tricon Corporation (BAT) in 1987, he served as Executive Vice President and successfully created and developed several profitable finance divisions that were unrelated to healthcare. In 1994, BAT was sold to FINOVA Capital Corporation where he served as Group Vice President in charge of four of sixteen divisions. In 1996 Paul founded J. Paul Buchanan & Associates, Inc. a financial services firm specializing in healthcare financing.
